Favourite Look from 'Sex and the City 2'

I know I've written here before that I'm not really a fan of the movies. Yes, they were flat, they were really cliche, the story was poor, and the dialogues weren't that smart and witty. BUT!!! The fashion was definitely there!!! I mean, how many outfits did the girls have in the second 'Sex and the City' movie? I'd say countless!

One look in particular drew my attention. The scene where Carrie meets Aidan at the market. WOW! It was not something over the top glamourous or couture, but it was a true Carrie ensemble..

Don't you guys agree?!?

So Many Women on 'The View'

'The View'.. Not my favourite TV show but I thoroughly enjoyed this episode with the lovely 'Sex and the City' girls. 14 years have passed by starting from the very first episode and the actresses look stunning as always. So many things happened... It feels that I've grown together with these characters, experienced life, matured.

Enjoy the clip!!! Women rule the world :)

Why People Love Carrie

Carrie Bradshaw... The narrator, the voice behind all 'Sex and the City' episodes... The one and only. I guess people either love her or hate her. And I understand why. She really is a real individual. A great friend. In fact, a best friend to so many people - Miranda, Charlotte, Samantha, Stanford and Big. And just the fact that this person has so many people relying on her support, advice really means a lot.

Our Carrie has done a bunch of mistakes (with the biggest being her affair with married Mr. Big while having a great boyfriend Aidan at her shoulder) that haunted her for so long, But the thing about her, she never settles down for something that is too simple for her human nature. Aidan was too good and predictable for Miss Bradshaw. While John (aka Big) is the perfect match. This mysterious Manhattan businessman who has commitment issues just like her. I think what we have witnessed in the show is the rebirth of both these characters. Both stubborn and complicated, they actually do make a great couple together. I guess they are on the same emotional level, they get each other. I'm not saying that they have the perfect relationship, I could never forgive a man for not showing up on the wedding... But all these struggles and experiences made them stronger. Just the fact that they always end up together after every break-up. The best word that describes their relationship is constant DRAMA! Our Carrie just can't do without it. It's in her blood to not only feel positive emotions, but also to be hurt once in a while, just in order to feel that much more happy and satisfied when things actually go extremely well. She is in no way a masochist, she's just the way she is. Our Carrie.

I find Carrie (and Sarah Jessica Parker) extremely attractive in the show. Yes, she doesn't have that generally accepted beauty, but she's unique, you gotta admit it. I don't understand why so many men can't see that. Current sex symbols (take Megan Fox, even though I do think she's attractive) are so unnatural (plastic surgery), so without that something special... And on the other hand we have women who have entirely and completely accepted themselves for who they are. They may not be perfect, but God created them just as they are for a reason. That's why I find celebrities like Uma Thurman, Reese Witherspoon, Julia Roberts, Barbara Streisand, Liza Minelli so much more attractive that those ladies who always want to change something in their physical appearance. I won't start writing names here, but we all get the picture. That's why you, girls, have to love yourselves. You are unique. You are special. We may not be supermodels, have long legs and perfect bodies, but we have a PERSONALITY, and that is what matters at the end of the day. Beauty fades, but who we are stays forever...

LOVE,
MK

PS for those of you who love Carrie as much as I do, the author of SATC published a new book recently. It's called 'Summer and the City' (2011). And it's a sequel to 'The Carrie Diaries' (2010). Those of you who are interested, you may also find these books on Amazon. Just click the pictures below!

I'm Back With More Sex... And Shoes!!!

Ok, people! So I've been a little busy lately with uni and work, so haven't really worked on my blog.. So my sincere apologies for that! But I'm back and ready to get this going again!

So as I've said before, this blog is not just about SATC, it's about admiring the lifestyle of these women, loving NYC, and what it's like being a single gal... (though I do hope this will change some day)))

What I want to talk about today, is shoes!!! Yeah, I have a thing for them. Well, what girl doesn't! And those girls who say they don't, well, obviously they don't really SATC that much, haha! Not being judgemental here, but whenever I feel kind of sad or a little tired and worn up, I do tend to go shopping for shoesss!!! Unlike tiny tops, short dresses, jeans, they always seem to fit! No matter what size you are, a shoe will always be there for you.

Been cruising around Amazon recently and found of that they sell shoes too! What a world we live in.. I know it's not everyone's thing to shop online, but as I live in a quite small city, the variety of shoes here is kinda limited, therefore I see nothing criminal in ordering some pretty pumps online. So far I think I've ordered only 2 pairs, but fortunately they fit me quite well.

Here they are, my lovely pumps :)

1. Steve Madden

2. Jessica Simpson

PS not a big fan of Jessica's songs, but these pumps are lovely :)

Amazon does have a great variety. I was also thinking of getting these shoes, but need to save up some money first!

Just a small number of pumps that raised my interest.. So much more to come ;)

Sex and the City - Funny Moments

I know.. YouTube can really kill a lot of time, but you still gotta love it for being able to find absolutely anything online. For instance, I was bored in the library and decided to cheer myself up!!! And what better way to do that? Yes, watch some of the funniest moments of SATC. As I've seen the show more that a couple of times, context for me is not necessary. Jokes are funny even without it. So enjoy your portion of laughter :)

Oh, you gotta love the screenwriters of Sex and the City. Witty, witty and once more, witty!!!

Those words - New York City...

Throughout the whole filming process, 99% of the time the TV show was based in New York City. This wonderfully diverse and multicultural city where everything is possible!!!

In my list of cities to visit, NYC has been the number ONE destination since I can really remember. And I think this dream will finally come true next August... I hope, need to save some money first. But if you believe in yourself and the importance of the goal, it'll definitely come true. And if everything goes according to plan, my two best girlfriends will join me. I can already imagine going up the Statue of Liberty, walking on 5th Avenue, going to Barneys (at least to glaze at everything), and of course dancing and clubbing every single night!!! I'm sure there is no better place for nightlife than NYC. So much variety, so many different cultures, all mixed into this unreal crowd.

And I imagine everything going so extremely fun, that sometimes I'm a little afraid that New York might disappoint a little.. But lets hope. Because I want to believe that this city is really something unique and very very special. Cause every time I watch another SATC episode, I cannot imagine how many fabulous places there are - all those galleries of contemporary art, cosy cafes, incredible shops with cheap vintage clothes, and those bars and cocktail lounges with Cosmos... Have a feeling August 2012 can easily become the best month of my life so far. So wish all the best to me :)

PS My top 5 places I want to visit in New York City

Charlotte York's Funny Quotes

Ok. I love Charlotte. Who doesn't? She's absolutely adorable, funny and, as Carrie once wrote, ''Charlotte York, my dear friend, and an eternal optimist''...

Yes, that's all about her. She's the one that believes in true love. She's the one that believes in soul mates. She's the one who's always searching for the one and only. And how glad was I when she finally met him. Harry... I love Harry. Sure, he's not the typical 'good-looking guy', but he's real! He's incredibly supportive and understanding. He's just so funny! He makes you laugh all the time! And a good sense of humor is always attractive in a man. I hate people who can't take a laugh at themselves and who take everything seriously. That's why Harry and Charlotte match so well.

So, ladies and gentlemen, here are some of Charlotte's memorable quotes!

I can't, Brian. I want to, but I can't. I mean, actually no, that's not true. I don't want to. Or maybe I do. I don't know what I want. But I'm afraid if I don't, you'll dump me. And if I do, then I'll be the up-the-butt girl. And I don't want to be the up-the-butt girl, because I mean... Men don't marry up-the-butt girl. Whoever heard of Mrs. Up-The-Butt? No, no, no. I can't. I want children and nice bedding, and I just can't handle this right now.  (S01E04)

I've been dating since I was fifteen. I'm exhausted. Where is he?  (S03E01)

He raped my face. I'm never dating again. (S03E05)

I proposed to myself. (S03E09)

Trey, you have a boner... I can't discuss my notes if you have a boner. (S04E01)

My vagina's depressed. (S04E02)

I have to start keeping a vagina journal. (S04E02)

Trey, I am tired of being married to your penis. (S04E04)

It's like we live in the Museum of Natural Ugliness! (S04E05)

I hate his name, Harry, because he is, everywhere but his head. (S05E08)

I'm having a Jewish wedding and I look like Hitler! (S06E08)

[to Big] I curse the day you were born! (SATC, movie I)

My Very Own 'Sex and the City' Gift Set!!!

So, Ladies! You won't believe what I've received today from the post office. Yes, my very own 'Sex and the City: The Completer Series (Collector's Gift Set)' from Amazon. And you know what? I absolutely love it!!!

As a true SATC fan, I absolutely had to have this gift set all to myself! Of course, I had all the 6 seasons of SATC on DVD before, but this still was like a necessity for me! I needed to have all that in a pretty little box. And guess what, there are some very nice things inside it. For example, apart from the DVD on 19 discs, there is an additional 20th disc with featurettes, games, and more. There's also this pink velvet spiral binder with various color pictures of the ladies and scenes from the show and short summaries of each episode (which are very helpful!!!). I know, I sound like a kid here, but I just love it. It's like my new 'special box' and no one gets to touch it :)

So if you want to buy this gift set for yourself or a girlfriend of yours, who is crazy about SATC like me, do not hesitate to order it through Amazon (and nowhere else, cause we know how people on the internet may fool you). I always order from Amazon, cause I know they are REAL and they will deliver everything safely and on time!

There's also this 'Deluxe' version of the gift set, which obviously costs more and gives you some more products (like the 2 movies and a fancier box), but I personally went with the cheaper verions, because I'm not a big fan of the movies... Yes, I've watched them, but I don't have this desire to watch them over and over again. Unlike the show though, that I watched multiple times!!!

But if you're interested, you can buy it from Amazon as well! Here's the product link!

Hope you ladies enjoy your gift set (that is if you get one) ;)

Yours,
MK (aka SATC freak) :)

Are Women & Men From Different Planets?!

Ok.. Some people may find this question tricky, some unnecessary, but I do believe in its importance. So, we all know that females and males are WAY different. But we all agree on the fact that women tend to be more emotional, while men are considered to be more rational and straightforward.

Oh, these crazy women...

So do women really rely on their emotions too often? Lets take the example of finding a boyfriend (cliche, but whatever). Ok, when we think about it, what should we start with? Do we make a rational list of things he should possess (as be intelligent, super good looking, rich, understanding, kind, funny, etc.)? NO. But what we do (at least what I do) is mostly rely on my feelings and perceptions. When I feel that he's so good to be around with, when I wake up with the thought of him, those characteristics mentioned above don't really matter. He may not have money, be not that good looking, it just has to feel right... We have to be on the same emotional level.

I guess men feel the same way too. Therefore, I must proclaim that people are irrational beings... We may understand that the guy or girl is not right for us, but still something keeps us so connected to the person. He may even cause us pain at times, but you think that it's worth fighting for. We do like to suffer a bit, just to feel those moments of happiness even stronger.

So what does this ultimately lead to? Are we really that different? Ummm... from my exerience, NO!!! First and foremost, we are all human beings that treasure such things as love, family, friends, our home. We may look and dress completely different, but we have the same goals and ambitions. And that is to be HAPPY with our lives and live every day to the full of it.

I just have to quote John Lennon. What a genius man he was. Not only genius, but incredibly humane...

When I was 5 years old,
my mother always told me that
happiness was the key to life.
When I went to school,
they asked me what I wanted
to be when I grew up.
I wrote down ‘happy.’
They told me I didn’t
understand the assignment,
and I told them they
didn’t understand life.

Manolo Blahnik Heaven...

Ok, girls! Lets be honest? Which one of you has never been jealous of Carrie's closet (or should I say her Manolo's)? Well, don't know about you, but I've always had this thing (=love) for shoes, even though I don't have that many. Not because I don't like them, but simply because I can't afford it right now. But lets not talk about the sad side of the story :)

Oh, what I'd give to have these Manolos... And I will have them some day, I'm 100000%%% certain about that! As I'm currently at uni now, I don't have a full-time job. But as soon as I graduate and get a good and interesting job, my first big paycheck will go on a pair

of Manolos...

and Louboutins...

and Jimmy Choos...

and Charlotte Olympia...

Hmmm... the list can obviously go on forever. But you get the idea - A girl doesn't really need that much!!! ;)

Which 'Sex and the City' Girl Are You?!

So, I have recently come across this quiz on the internet. I know, sounds kinda silly.. but actually the results are quite interesting! You see, I've seen the show 3 times (and by that I mean all 94 episodes), and I've always thought I was a Charlotte (even though all the girls are quite different from me). But if I had to pick one, I'd definitely end up picking Mrs. York Goldenblatt. I always thought of myself as this girl who strongly believed in true love and the 'one and only' soul mate.. Yeah, I'm a great romantic at heart :)

But this test said I was more like Carrie! Can you believe it! Take a look at the result! To be honest, the description does quite suit me!That's what it said:

You're quirky, flirty, and every guy's perfect first date.
But can the guy in question live up to your romantic ideal?
It's tough for you to find the right match - you're more than a little picky.
Never fear... You've got a great group of friends and a
great closet of clothes, no matter what!

Romantic prediction: You'll fall for someone this year...

Totally different from any guy you've dated.

So guys, if you're interested in finding your SATC character, feel free to follow this link!

Sex and the City Posters

Did you know there is this website that sells fabulous 'Sex and the City' posters?! They come in different sizes and materials, but I assure you that there is a great variety. Carrie posters. Miranda posters. Charlotte posters. Samantha posters. But the best ones are those where all the girls are together.

Sex and The City: The Movie

Sex and The City: The Movie

I do think that of all TV shows I've seen (and I've seen a lot), SATC has portrayed the most beautiful friendship among women. It's so believable, so multifaceted, and so giving and understanding. And the problems that the girls face throughout their lives are so easy to relate to.

Sometimes I wonder, what if there was no 'Sex and the City' at all? And guys, don't get me wrong, I'm not obsessing or anything, and I do have a great life (and I'm thankful for everything I have), and I do have two best girlfriends (even though they're far away from me now, but we constantly keep in touch). What I'm trying to say is that this show has taught me so many lessons. I felt better about my personal problems after watching another SATC episode. Those girls help me.

When I created this blog, I thought it would exclusively be about the 'Sex and the City' TV show. But now I'm not sure anymore. Sometimes I feel as I need to express myself and I need people to read about that. This is anonymous and none of you know me or my name. Therefore, from now on, I'm going to attach a more personal style this blog. And right now I don't have any regular readers, but I do believe in a couple of months you guys will find me, and we'll discuss things together. We can be each others' blog buddies :)

Samantha Jones' Fabulous Quotes

Samantha Jones.. The powerful PR lady of new York! The never fading character. The eternal optimist. The one friend that never judges you and expects the same from you.

I'd love to have a friend like Samantha Jones. She is the essence of fun. She proves to us that life can be fabulous without having a boyfriend and being single. I personally just adore her with all my heart. And throughout the show I've never felt sorry for her, because I always knew she'd have it all sorted out. She's too strong and confident to let any circumstances come in her way. I do think she's one of the strongest characters out there. And one thing I love about her is the incredible sense of humor! That's why I've decided to post some of my favorite Samantha Jones' quotes. Love her or hate her, but her words will always be out there!

You know, married women are threatened because we can have sex anytime, anywhere, and with anyone. (S01E03)

Front, back, who cares? A hole is a hole. (S01E04)

Money is power, sex is power, therefore, getting money for sex is simply an exchange of power. (S01E05)

You can't date your fuck buddy... You're going to take the only person in your life that's there purely for sex, no strings attached, and turn him into a human being? Why? (S02E14)

You men have no idea what we're dealing with down there. Teeth placement, and jaw stress, and suction, and gag reflex, and all the while bobbing up and down, moaning and trying to breathe through our noses. Easy? Honey, they don't call it a job for nothing. (S03E09)

You have a lot of nerve telling me to get a wax. If you were in Aruba the natives could bead your back. And it's not just there: every time I blow you I feel like I'm flossing. (S04E07)

I think I have monogamy. I caught it from you people. (S04E15)

Can we cut the cake? I have a three-way to go to. (S04E17)

I have a broken toe, not a broken spirit. (S06E11)

No smoking in bars? What's next, no fucking in bars? (S06E01)
